Accurate and high quality translation of your website can be one of the most important steps that you take in the overall improvement of your conversion rates. The European Standard, while not perfect, does offer some quality guidance on the topics of translation project management, competency in linguistics, as well as offering information about relationships with clients and businesses and technical guidance. It is well worth the time to review and understand the meat of the standard in order to more effectively select and assess your own translation team.

In addition to the methods and guidance mentioned in the European Standard, one further method used assess the potential quality of a translation team is to look at their quality assurance and hiring standards. Check out their certifications and the certifications of the translators who will be working on your project. While not all encompassing, they are a good indication of the kind of quality and training that the company brings to the table.
